Bio-identical Hormone Replacement:

Fact or Fad?

Is it true?  Can replacing naturally occurring hormones reduce the aging process?  While our body’s hormone production decreases at middle age, does it result in decreased energy levels, fatigue, loss of muscle tone, fat accumulation, thin hair and skin, moodiness, decreased libido, and a general reduction in quality of life?  Dr. Birken has completed an intense accredited continuing education course on the scientific data of natural, bio-identical hormone replacement.

“What a revelation.  Clinical research supports the use of non-synthetic compounds for ovarian, thyroid, and adrenal deficiencies,” Dr. Birken said.  “Patients are more energetic, lose weight and fat, increase their strength, exercise endurance, muscle tone, have enhanced libido, less depression and anxiety, along with improved sleep and well-being.”

Since pharmaceutical companies cannot patent natural compounds, their research is for synthetic products.  While most drugs are safe and efficacious, these hormones do not provide cellular changes needed for optimal physiological improvement.

Testing for hormone deficiencies is by blood and/or saliva analysis.  Please call the office for more information, or to schedule a consultation call Megan at 832-816-7366 or email her at megan@gynfo.com
