To My Patients,

I would like to take this opportunity to let my patients know about a simple outpatient procedure for heavy menstrual periods.

Endometrial Ablation for Heavy Menstrual Periods

A new generation device for reducing or eliminating menstrual periods is available.  The Novasure Endometrial System is an extremely simple outpatient procedure that takes about ninety seconds to perform.

This “weekend hysterectomy” requires no hormonal pretreatment, is performed as an outpatient procedure, and is pain free. There is no incision and patients can resume normal activity the next day.

The procedure cauterizes the lining of the uterus (endometrium) by controlled delivery of energy with minimal complications.

About 80% of patients have significantly reduced periods by 12 months and another 15% have no bleeding at all.  The satisfaction rate is about 95%.  Failures occur if the patient has some underlying pathology such as fibroids or endometriosis.

I am currently performing Endometrial Ablation for Heavy Menstrual Periods using The Novasure Endometrial System. If you are experiencing heavy menstrual periods, call our office to schedule a consultation.
